Website Updating and Redesign

Regardless of how well your website was originally designed, it should never be considered the final version. Wheather you are offering a service, consumer products, information or your insights into world events, your websites content will require constant updating to keep it fresh and current. Usually updating only involves the replacement of images or text, and possibly changing pricing information on 'Buy Now" or PayPal buttons. More comprehensive updates may require the creation of completely new pages or functionalities.  A more drastic change may require a total redesign of a website from the ground up. However, changing a websites color scheme, background color, and header may be all that's needed to give it a totally new and different look, and combined with the sites existing content, would be an inexpensive alternative to total redesign. Most web designers will upate an existing website, but look around for the best price.

The ability to update your own website is one of the main reasons to become familiar with HTML code and the software used to create web pages, and could save a lot of expense if your website will require frequent changes such as an e-commerce site or a website that discusses current affairs. There are many inexpensive website design programs available that do not require a great deal of HTML code knowledge, specifically the WYSWUG(what you see is what you get) programs are the easiest to learn and allows you to move and position elements on a page very much like a photo editing program. Another option is to build your website using a "sitebulder" templete from one of the web hosting services, allowing you to ealsily update and change components of your website.
